William Szieff

William Szieff, Jr. passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012. Born in 1930 in Alliance, OH, he served his country for 4 years during the Korean War. Moving to California, he worked at McDonnell Douglas. He met his wife, Judy, in church and was married in 1957. Realizing teaching was his true calling, he received his BA and MA from Pepperdine and taught elementary school for 33 years. A true believer in Christ, he actively participated in the churches he attended. After his retirement he became involved with the Friends of Lomita Library where in 2007 he received the Lomita Volunteer of the Year award. He is survived by his wife, Judy; a son, Bill (Caitlin); a daughter, Elissa; and 5 grandchildren, Jake, Jackson and Casey Rae Zelhart, Julian and John Szieff. Services will be at Greens Hills on Thursday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m. Family welcomes donations in his name to the Friends of Lomita Library, 24200 Narbonne Ave., Lomita, CA, 90717.
