Wilma (Billie) McCord Obituary
Wilma McCord (Billie)

December 1928 to
May 2015

Our beautiful and beloved friend, mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, aunt, and sister, passed from this life into the next after suffering a long and painful illness. She now joins Bud, her husband of 55 years, who passed in 2005. She also joins her son, Steve who left us 2 years ago. Also deceased are her identical twin, Mary Dixon and younger sister Jean Pyeatt. She was loved by all! Billie was past president of Tri-Park Little League in Lawndale in the 1960's and also a member of the Torrance Women's Club for 30 years. She worked in the medical field for 23 years for Kurt Pickus, MD and Richard Neese, DC. Left behind to mourn her loss are her son, Rick (Lisa) and their children, Sam (Chrissy) and Stacy (Josh), and their children. Also, daughter, SuAnne (Andrew) and their daughter, Julie (Tim), and their children. Billie was born in Redlands, CA and she and her identical twin sister were born 3 months premature. Their grandfather was a chicken rancher and kept the babies alive in a chicken incubator for their first 3 months of life. Later, she grew up in Santa Monica and Venice where she met Bud and when the children were born they moved to Lawndale and then Rancho Palos Verdes where she resided for over 50 years. She dearly loved all her family and friends and will meet with her best friend, Juanita McLaren at another time. We are so grateful to have had her friend and caregiver, Lorna Escusa, by her side for these past years. We are also grateful for Peregrine Hospice and their wonderfully caring staff. A Memorial Service is being planned for a later date in May at Billie's home in Palos Verdes. Please sign the guestbok at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
