Winslow R. "Win" Taylor passed away at home March 20, 2012 after a brief illness. A true gentleman, Winslow embodied style, warmth, intellect, charm and humor. Winslow was born December 24, 1926 in Schenectady, New York. In 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He attended Midshipman's School at Middlebury College. When the war in Europe ended he continued naval officer training at Cornell. When WWII ended he then transferred to Dartmouth College, graduating in 1949. Winslow began his lifelong hotel supply career in 1950. In 1950, he married Madelyn Confer and they moved to California in 1965. Madelyn predeceased him in 1987. In 1997, Winslow married Sally Cross. He is survived by his wife, Sally; his son, Winslow R. Taylor, Jr.; grandchildren, Brittney, Winslow III, Austin and Brianna; stepdaughters, Renee Cottriel, Ashley DeMoss; and grandchildren, Sarah Moody and Jessica Cottriel. A celebration of life memorial will be held Sunday, April 1, 1:00 p.m. at the Redondo Beach elks Club, 315 Esplanade, Redondo Beach, CA.
