Eileen Brady Obituary
Eileen Brady

A longtime resident of Torrance passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 22, 2013, after a 5 month battle with lung and brain cancer. Eileen passed in her home with family by her sideat the age of 74. She was born in Inglewood, CA and raised in North Redondo Beach. After graduating from Mira Costa High School in 1956, she went to work at Northrup in the Records Department. Eileen, through her brother, was introduced to Earl Brady, who also worked at Northrup, and they began carpooling. It didn't take much time at all for these two wonderful hearts to connect. By August of 1957 they had bought and fixed up a home in Torrance where they were wed in the front room. Eileen's dream of being a wife and mother was fulfilled through 55 yearsof marriage and family life. She very much enjoyed making her home warm and welcoming for all that walked through the door. For many years Eileen worked at Revel's Bakery as that smiling face behind the counter. Eileen had a giving spirit and an enthusiasm for people which naturally led her to a volunteer position with the Auxiliary at South Bay Hospital (which eventually became Beach Cities) for almost thirty years. There she became part of a bigger family. One of Eileen's greatest joys was the birth of her grandson Jeff. She loved spending time watching all his activities, from school, to sports, to scouting events and especially listening to him play his guitars and other instruments. Eileen loved shopping with friends, (never knowing what would come home in her convertible), the monthly neighborhood Bunco night (including a few Right-Left-Center games), a trip now and then to a casino, or a small road trip to visit friends and family. Eileen lived life to the fullest and found joy even in the simplest things of each day. Eileen is survived by her daughter, Joellen (Greg) Stiles; son, Cliff Brady; grandson, Jeff Stiles; brother-in-law, Doug Weber; nephew, Lee (Denise) Weber, niece, Lyn (Bill) Boodman; brother-in-law, Bob (Sharon) Hendricks, niece, Ginny (Carey) Hamel, nephew, Rob (Debbie) Hendricks, and so many cherished friends. A memorial service will be held at Sea Coast Church, 100 N. Pacific Coast Highway, Redondo Beach, CA 90277 on Saturday, February 23 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the South Bay Auxiliary, 514 N. Prospect, Redondo Beach, CA 90277, Attn: In Loving Memory of Eileen Brady. Proceeds will go toward the Auxiliary's Youth and Elderly Outreach Programs. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
