Patricia Ann "Pat" Norton Obituary
Pat was born in Buffalo, New York, the oldest child to John Frederick Norton and Mildred Frances Norton. The family left the city in 1947 and purchased a fruit farm in Sodus, New York, a small town in upstate New York. It was there that Pat learned at an early age the values of independence, hard work and love of family. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1958 and earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Brockport State College in 1962. Upon her graduation, Pat, "Nort", and college friends went on a long awaited road trip across the U.S. Upon seeing the Rocky Mountains and Boulder, she knew she would return someday. Settling back in New York, she taught in Sodus Elementary School, grades 2nd and 3rd, for the next few years. Then in 1964, Pat returned to her special place, Boulder, Colorado. There she continued her reaching in the Boulder School system grades 4-6 for several years. Pat's endeavors for business began when she and fellow teachers won a bid from the City of Boulder to manage the Boulder Reservoir for the summer months in all the aspects of water sports and food concessions. As a CU Buffs fan, Collegiate Club was created for parents and their CU student to keep in touch through "goodie" baskets of fresh baked goods and snacks. She also sold a line of CU memorabilia as well! Pat and her friend opened Hooked on Fish, a seafood restaurant and fresh seafood market in Louisville, Colorado. Fresh seafood was also delivered to local and mountain restaurants. She also owned and operated B&N Commercial Cleaning, a cleaning service for Boulder and the surrounding areas from 1987-2016. She had a love of golf, and was a member of the Lake Valley women's league, an avid CU Buffaloes fan and her favorite memories were those of tent camping in the Rockies around a campfire with family and friends. Pat with her kind heart, warm smile, and a great sense of humor, she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by sister, Mary Norton; brother, Richard (Kathleen) Norton, Robert (Susan) Norton; nieces, Laura (Dustin) Hatfield; Stacey (Clayton) Carroll, Lesley Norton, Jessica (Tyler) Mason; nephew, Jonathan Norton; grandnieces and grandnephew, Adley Mason, Everly Carroll and Carson Carroll. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00am at Rejoice Lutheran Church, 3413 Lowell Lane, Erie, CO. Condolences can be sent to Crist Mortuary www.cristmortuary.com.
