Patti Ruth and I have been friends since we first met in Kindergarten at Larchmont Elementary School. I still remember when we bathed black slugs in the girls' restroom and then fed them graham cracker crumbs on snack break. We may have drifted apart after college, but she was never far from my mind or heart. A special woman who really knew the meaning of friendship. I valued her so very much and was taken aback to hear of her demise. She never mentioned anything about being ill...I am in a state of shock and pain...but know this Patti Ruth, it is never over. You may be gone from this world but never forgotten. I will see you down the line and we will have lots to share! I love you Patti Ruth!!

We are sad to hear that Pat has left our world.
We have always seen her as a good and kind spirit in this world and a fighter for the cause of wind energy and the environment.
We still remember when we first met her when she started as Secretary of the IEA Wind Implementing Agreement. That was in 1996 in Kopenhagen and during the following years until 2011 we were allways amazed by her quiet and consistent manner of working as co-organizer and secretary of our Executive Committee Meetings.
The yearly editing of the IEA Wind Annual Report is, I think, also one of her great achievements, with all the different ways our members from the various countries handled the English language.
From 1996 through 2016 she edited the Annual Reports through her company PWT Communications. Thanks to the great works she did for the IEA Wind Technology Cooperation Programme the world is a better informed place.
And then of course she thoroughly enjoyed all the wonderful places we visited and the camaraderie of doing business together and at the same time having a good time.
Particularly I remember the time she and Rick came to visit the Netherlands with mother Pat and daughter Amber. We visited Amsterdam during the festivities of the Queen’s Beatrix’ birthday and later on the flower show at the Keukenhof. That was a very colourful event.
Same holds for our trip to Stockholm Sweden where we had a great boat trip through the Stockholm archipelago and beer in Sven Erik Thors’ garden.
Also memorable was our vist to Nara in Japan, where we saw the great wooden temple and the deer wandering around around and nibling our hands and luggage.
We will always think of her as a friend and colleague that worked making the world a better place.
