Bill's wit, humor, and ability to tell stories about his dogs have made him one of the most popular and well recognized members of the greyhound community.
He and his wife, Dot, have been very generous financial supporters of Colorado Greyhound Adoption. Bill used to always offer to "foster" greyhounds for CGA, but the O'Sullivan household was the Hotel California for every greyhound who entered. They never left.
I met Bill and Dot almost 20 years ago, and I've had the amazing honor of picking out the dogs they've adopted. I've tried to deliver almost every one to them, because it was so much fun to watch the look on Bill and Dot's faces as I arrived. They would immediately tell me how much they loved their new greyhound, and inevitably, I'd receive an email the next day telling me how (smart, amazing, sweet, intelligent, needy, etc) the new hound was, followed by an in-depth review of their name and how they slept the first night in their home.
Bill was also a lover of wine, and I would be lying if I said that I didn't enjoy being the recipient of many amazing bottles of wine over the years as thank you gifts for delivering the "best dogs a person could ask for".
I will miss Bill, and his lovely stories. CGA will miss the man who so strongly supported our organization and our mission. Rest in peace Bill, and may you be surrounded by all of the dogs you have loved.
Our thoughts and prayers are the with rest of the O'Sullivan Family
