David Bruce Chandler Obituary
David Bruce Chandler WOODSTOCK- David Bruce Chandler was born in Englewood, N.J., in 1952. He spoke often of his idyllic childhood, along with his three sisters, Julia Anne, Gael, and Jayne, and his parents, Bob and Mary Beth. At age 16 he met Cheryl, who quickly become the love of his life. They married in 1974 and were lucky enough to spend 49 glorious years together, raising sons Jesse, Zach, Seth, and Casey. In 1981 the family moved to Woodstock, N.Y., and he became a school psychologist in Saugerties, N.Y., where he worked until his retirement in 2015. He was the best father, best son, best brother, best friend, and best husband, and in the last seven years of his life, he relished in his new role as a loving grandfather to Nico, Harper, and Leilana. He was a humble, honest, and lovably quirky man of many passions, such as running, hiking, juggling, traveling, indie rock music, Formula One racing, the Yankees, and reading/writing fiction. He and Cheryl found their dream home in Olivebridge in 2017- the place they loved and planned to grow old together in. Most of all, he loved his family and friends with his whole heart and he taught us all, by example, to be the kindest we could possibly be. As a prostate cancer survivor, he would frequently say that he lived a great life, and believed that in the end, what matters most was to live a life full of love. And he did. There will be a celebration of Dave’s life in the spring of 2019.
