Leroy E. Winnie KINGSTON- Leroy E. “Pooh-Bear” Winnie, 55, of Lapla Road, Kingston, passed away while in the comforting presence of his family Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Middletown, N.Y., on Jan. 20, 1963; a son of the late Malvin and Betty (DeRosa) Winnie. Leroy was employed as a van driver for Gateway Industries. He was a bowling league member at Mid-City Bowling Alley, and also enjoyed darts, hunting and working on cars. He was a loyal fan and collector of anything Elvis. He is survived by siblings, Malvin F. (Beverly) Winnie of Middletown, Thomas (Linda) Winnie of Kingston, Patti (Mickey) Sparling of Hurley, John M. (Julie) Winnie of Middletown; and his daughter, Gabi and her mother Judith. He also leaves behind his beloved dachshund “Bella”. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one sister Betty Jean Ehlers. Cremation held at Wiltwyck Crematory. A Time of Remembrance will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park.
