Sherman Krawitz Obituary
Sherman Krawitz KINGSTON- Sherman Krawitz, 89, of Kingston, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y.; he was the son of the late Max and Anna (Kalt) Krawitz. He was a graduate of Syracuse University and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-54. He met and married Toby Oslin in 1957. The couple moved to Kingston in 1994. He earned a living as a stockbroker and his favorite past times were stamp collecting and fly-fishing on the Esopus River. Sherman is survived by his wife, Toby Krawitz of Kingston; three daughters, and their families: Robin Krawitz of Wilmington, Del.; Susan Krawitz and her daughter, Hannah Munson of Stone Ridge, N.Y.; and, Anne Krawitz, her husband Carlton Harris, and their children, Emma Harris and Max Harris of Philadelphia, Pa. A graveside service will be held at Montrepose Cemetery on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at 10 a.m., with Rabbi Yael Romer of Congregation Emanuel, officiating. Shiva will be observed at home from Sunday through Thursday between 5 and 8 p.m. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Jewish Family Services of Ulster County, 280 Wall St., Kingston, N.Y., 12401 or Hudson Valley Hospice, 400 Aaron Court, Kingston, N.Y., 12401.
