Jean Ann Albers of Gurnee Jean Ann Albers, 89, passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village. Jean was born Sept. 19, 1922, in Canton, Ill., and married Ralph Albers on Feb. 28, 1941, in Moline. She had owned and operated a Dairy Queen store in DeKalb for 25 years until her retirement. She loved to play bingo and bunko with her lady friends at Gurnee Meadows. Survivors include two sons, Tim (Chris) Albers of Libertyville and Terry (Linda) Albers of Elk Grove Village; five grandchildren, Lorissa (Jeremy) Prickett, Mallory Albers, Josh Albers, Shelli (Jim) Wiley and Scot (Jessica) Albers; four great-grandchildren Caleb Prickett, Jayce Wiley, and Teagen and Kailey Albers; and one sister, Diane (Albert) Mole of Lubock, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1990. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, at Pineview Cemetery in Beach Park. There will be no visitation.
