Thomas Joseph Giambalvo Funeral services for Thomas Joseph "Tommy G." Giambalvo, 31 of Aurora, will be held at 11 a.m. today, at Burkhart Funeral Home, 606 E. Arnold Road, Sandwich. Fr. Jack T. Heraty will officiate. Born Dec. 17, 1970, in Winfield, the son of George and Jo Eileen (nee Breen) Giambalvo, he passed away suddenly Friday, Aug. 16, 2002. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton. Tom was employed with the Local Plumbers Union #422 out of Joliet. His family and friends knew they could always find him by a lake fishing or playing pool. Tommy especially loved spending time with his nephews, Evan and Erik. He also enjoyed time fishing with his stepsons, Justin, Aaron and Cody, and cheering them on at all of their sporting events. Tommy is survived by his father, George Giambalvo of Lake Holiday, Sandwich; siblings, Kathleen Giambalvo of Bonita Springs, Fla., George Michael Giambalvo of Sandwich, Patricia (Merle) Hall of Sandwich and Linda Giambalvo of Aurora; nephews, Evan and Erik Hall, both of Sandwich; and his fiancee, Pam Hett of Aurora, and her children, Justin Wray, Aaron and Cody Hett. He also leaves behind two special companions known as "man's best friend," his dogs, Sampson and Junior. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jo E. Giambalvo on April 17, 1997; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation was held Sunday, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be George Giambalvo, Rick Petronzio, Dennis Hayes, Pat Boardman, Lance Mayer and Anthony Jimenez.
