MUNDELEIN - He was born February 11, 1929 in Chicago, son of John and Anna Sobon and passed away peacefully January 6, 2021. He grew up with 11 siblings on a farm in Mundelein. Ben lived in Diamond Lake for the last 66 years. He retired from Brach's Candy after 35 dedicated years. He is survived by his four children, and preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; and son, Gary. Visitation 4-7 PM Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Kristan Funeral Home PC, 219 West Maple Ave. (2 blocks west of Rt. 45 on Rt. 176), Mundelein. Funeral mass 10 AM Monday at Santa Maria del Popolo Church (Big Church), Mundelein. Interment will follow in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. For information, visit or call 847-566-8020.
