Christine Marie Robinson of Elgin Christine M. Robinson died April 6, 2013, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Dennis Peotter of Elgin; stepdaughter Amy M. (Jacob L.) Wallgren and granddaughters Grace and Lucy Wallgren, New York Mills, MN; brother William L. (Trudi) Robinson, Auburn, WA; sister Marcia B. (Eric) Helveston, Broken Arrow, OK; father-in-law Robert Peotter Sr., Neenah, WI; brothers- and sisters-in-law Jerry (Diane) Peotter, Appleton, WI, Wayne (Lynn) Peotter, Neenah, WI, Robert Peotter Jr., Tacoma, WA, Deborah Hopen, Auburn, WA, and Betty Dekelver, Cecil, WI; a nephew and numerous nieces; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Gerald and Elizabeth Robinson, and by her mother-in-law, Gladys Peotter. Christine was born January 14, 1952, in Rockford, Illinois. She was an active member of Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, Elgin, where she led and served on many committees and ministries and sang in the choir. One of her favorite ministries was the making of prayer shawls for those experiencing crises and baptismal blankets for the infants who were baptized in the congregation. Her career included time as a Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, Quality Analyst, and Quality Consultant. Christine was a longstanding member and leader of the American Society for Quality. She served in many varied technical and editorial capacities. She held three professional certificates: Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, and Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence. She was also recognized as a 6-Sigma Blackbelt. Christine's hobbies included music, reading, and genealogy. She was an accomplished flutist and singer. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 13, at 2:00 P.M. at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, 12N462 Tina Trail (corner of Highland Ave and Tina Trail), Elgin. Visitation will be at the church from 1:15 until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Christine's memory to the Memorial Fund of Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, or to pancreatic cancer research.
