Dan always had this way of making everyone laugh constantly. He was so much fun to be around. He loved Janet and his children so much. I remember back in college when Dan and I taught Janet how to run long distance - near Lake Winnebago. It was definitely a process, but she showed us in the end and who would know that now. Dan also had his first MBA internship with the company that I worked for - JI Case. They had 7 interns that year from only the top 5 MBA programs in the country. They would not normally have hired an intern from UW-Oshkosh. At the end of the internship, Dan was the only intern to receive an offer. The other 6 from Harvard, Northwestern, Tuck, etc. did not receive an offer. Dan worked there for many many years and ultimately became a VP. Only Dan could have done that. His career continued on that way with great and wonderful success. There is not a good explanation why God wanted Dan to come to him so early in his life. He obviously is a very special person who touched so many people and who has a very special purpose for his master and I guess just needed to leave us sooner than any of us were ready. He is missed so greatly by so many. May the Lord walk with Janet and Daniel, Caitlyn and Conner and their families at this most difficult time.

My deepest sympathies to the Nekich family -
I am glad to have known Dan. We shared many fun times in Band and Stage Band in High School. My favorite song to play was "Drum God." Dan always did the title justice. I am sorry he was taken so soon.

To Dan's Wife Janet and his children and all of the Nekich Family-
I was so saddened to hear about Dan- we grew up next door to them and have many memories. Sitting and reading all of the things people have written is truly what Dan was. He was such a kind, caring and funny person who always was interested in others. This is such a great loss for everyone and hard to understand , but I do know that he is with God and believe he is a wonderful angel who will look down upon his family and others with all his love and always be with them.

To Janet, Daniel, Caitlyn, and Connor: It is so sad to lose Dan - a role model, a great supervisor for me both personally and professionally. Dan was with us in China weeks ago. The team here had great time with him as every time he came. I saw him off in Shanghai airport on April 28th with begining expecting his next trip to visit us. All these seems in yesterday...
Dan is so much loved and admired by every local Chinese who knows him. We prayed in Chinese way for his recovery. He will be missed. He will live on in our hearts.
In here China, 7000 miles away, our hearts are with you.

Dan was a great friend and one of the finest men I've ever known. He lived life to the fullest, always with the values that were important to him. Things about Dan that will always stay with me are his enthusiasm for all things in life, his genuine interest in people, and the consideration, kindness, and caring that he showed every day to his family and to his friends. We will all miss him very much.

To Uncle Jim and Aunt Mary Ann, Janet, Dona, Steve, and Tami - We love you and share your grief. We prayed for Dan's recovery but God must have more important work for him to do. The Apostle Paul wrote these words to remind us that in Christ we have conquered death: "But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus."

So, sorrow for now because we will miss him, but joy in anticipating the day we are reunited.

Even though he is no longer physically with us, Dan will live on in the hearts of everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. His zany sense of humor, zest for life and adventure, and his undying dedication to his family will be the things I remember the most about Dan.

Dan will also live on in the lives of Daniel, Caitlyn, and Connor in which he instilled his core values of honesty, hard work, faith, honor, and family. Dan cherished every precious moment with his beautiful family and lived a life without regrets. Dan will be remembered as a truly great father, a dedicated husband, an unfailing friend, a loyal brother, and always his parent’s delight.

We have very fond memories of Danny when he worked for us on the farm...He was the one who did hand stands on the trailer on the way out to the field to pick vegetables. The one who was always full of life and mischief as we washed those veggies...And the best memory is that he was the person who introduced me and taught me how to make Tacos....A very special young man, one who will be missed. May God bless his family and hold them in his arms at this very difficult time
