1961 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
On the afternoon of Monday, July 9, Deborah Ozawa died peacefully with her husband, Masami Ozawa, at her side at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL after a brief illness. She was born on March 4, 1961 in Bremen, IN to Richard and Ann (Gilbert) LaFree. In April 2000, she moved to Roselle, IL to join her new husband, Masami Ozawa, who survives. Her family includes her sisters, Bonnie (Randall) Suttor of Bremen, IN and Pam (Carmelo) Milano of Chapel Hill, NC and her brother Bryan (Susan) LaFree of Bremen, IN. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Tom LaFree and Greg LaFree. Aunt Debbie enthusiastically spent time with her numerous nieces and nephews and also had many other so-called nieces and nephews, particularly the children in her neighborhood. Debbie was an avid animal lover and leaves behind her beagle, Milo. This dog, on Debbie's command, would howl "Happy Birthday" to Deb's family members and friends whenever a birthday would come around. The family and friends of Deborah Ann will gather on July 12 at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road (½ block east of Route 53), Rolling Meadows, IL from 3 to 8 p.m. (central time). The funeral will be held during that same day and time from 5 to 6 p.m. A memorial service is also in the planning stages and will be held in Bremen, IN, for her hometown friends and family. Debbie lost her brother, Tom, to the disease of multiple sclerosis, therefore, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society at https://www.nationalmssociety.org/Donate.
