Obituary Condolences

Ella Krebs joined her husband, Raymond and son, Joseph in Heaven on January 30, 2018. Born in a farmhouse in Vernon Township, Illinois on February 22, 1919 to William and Mamie S. Holst, she was raised on a farm in Half Day, Illinois by her widowed mother and grandparents whom she loved dearly. She loved all animals, especially the family horse and climbing trees as a child. After High School, she attended the Art Institute of Chicago to become a commercial artist. There she met Raymond Krebs Sr., a machinist whom she married on June 21, 1941. Together, they lived in several Northwest Illinois towns, finally settling back in Half Day on a small ranch where they enjoyed her animals and the outdoors while raising four sons. They lived there until the passing of husband Raymond Sr. in 1998. She moved to assisted living in Denver, Colorado in 2009 near her youngest son. She always made many friends wherever she lived and many remember her fondly for her friendship and wry sense of humor. She is survived by her sons William T. (the late Ingrid), Thomas A. (Sandy) and Raymond, Jr. (Kathie), seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at St. Mary of Vernon Church, 236 Rt. 45, Indian Creek, IL 60061. Interment will be at Vernon Township Cemetery in Lincolnshire. Arrangements by Burnett-Dane Funeral Home in Libertyville. For info, 847-362-3009 or sign the guestbook at www.burnettdane.com.
