GAIL W. JOCK Obituary
Gail W. Jock peacefully passed away on January 8, 2018, surrounded by her family whom she so deeply loved. Born on July 18, 1942 in Baton Rouge, LA, to Neil Antoine Webre and Haddie Melancon Webre, she graduated from Loyola School of Dentistry, dental hygiene program, in 1962. Following the raising of her children she resumed her education, graduating from the College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, IL, in 2000 with the Honors Program degrees of Associate in General Studies and Associate in Arts and in 2003 from Columbia University in the City of New York with the degree of Bachelor of Arts. She had a life-long interest in history, particularly Colonial-American history including the Scottish influences on American history during the American Revolution, and in genealogy, tracing her French ancestry back to the 1600's. Gail served with distinction on the Board of Trustees of Loyola University New Orleans from 2007 to 2013 and again from 2014 until shortly before her death, including as Vice Chair of the Student Affairs Committee. She was an active volunteer including with the New York Piano Competition, the flagship program of The Stecher and Horowitz Foundation in New York City. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Paul, their two adult children, Dr. Craig W. Jock and Nicole Torres, and four grandchildren, Efraim and Abigail Torres and Teagan and Liam Jock. Visitation will be on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 P. M. and Tuesday, January 16 from 8:30 to 9:30 A. M., both CST, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road, Wheaton, IL 60187 and her funeral mass will be on Tuesday, January 16 at 10:00 A. M., CST, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 310 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187.
