1947 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Gary Lloyd Andersen, 70, died peacefully in his home on May 15, 2018, after an eight month battle with brain cancer (Glioblastoma). Born September 27, 1947 in Hammond, IN, he was the first born son of the late Jean and Lloyd Andersen. Gary is survived by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 50 years, Cynthia Jane Andersen (ne Mann). He will be mourned by his siblings, Robert (Bernie) Andersen and Gayle (Joe) Garbarski; his three daughters, Samantha (Stephen) Buechele, Corinne (Benjamin Webster) Andersen, and Jaime (Steven Lougheed) Andersen; and his five beautiful grandchildren, who knew him as Papa. Gary received a B.A. in business at IU Bloomington and found employment in data processing and IT Quality throughout the Chicago area. Gary worked to live, spending his free time playing catch with his girls, walking his dog, and rooting for the White Sox. Sundays were spent at The Church of the Incarnation, where Gary and Cindy have been members for nearly half a century. Gary retired a happy man at 65, listening to 45s on his jukebox and building models of old monster movie characters. He spent his vacations at Disney, visiting every year to ride Space Mountain and have a Dole Whip in the sunshine. Gary was very loved and will be greatly missed. All will be welcomed at a celebration of life ceremony to be held on Sunday, June 17 at The Church of the Incarnation, United Methodist, 330 W. Golf Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60005. There will be a service at 12pm, followed by fellowship and a luncheon at 12:45pm. For information, call 847-253-0224 or visit www.Meadowsfh.com.
