HAROLD O. JENSEN Obituary
Harold O. Jensen formerly of Glen Ellyn for 29 years The funeral service for Harold O. "Hal" Jensen, 72, of West Chicago, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Faith Lutheran Church, 41 N. Park Blvd., Glen Ellyn. A memorial gathering will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 18, at the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn. Hal was born Sept. 28, 1937, in Northfield, Minn., of Norwegian descent. Two days after the Berlin Wall was put up, Hal was assigned to teach math for the Department of Defense. He was a math teacher at Glenbard East High School from 1966 to 1972, and then became the dean of students at the newly opened Glenbard South High School, and where he was later appointed and retired as the assistant principal of operations. Hal was the loving husband for 47 years of Nancy (nee Johnson); gentle and loving father of Karin (David) Sammons, Kirsten (Steven) Vondrak, Richard and Erik; dear grandfather of Ryan and Colton Sammons, Kevin, Kyle and Katie Vondrak, and Nathan, Benjamin and Alex Jensen; fond brother of Mary Horne, Lois (the late Larry) Everson and Richard (Cris); and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
