Ida J. Barker of Huntley Services for Ida J. Barker, 94, formerly of McHenry, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Living Waters Lutheran Church, 1808 Miller Road, Crystal Lake. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery in McHenry. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Saturday, at the church. Born May 24, 1911, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Elmer and Ida (nee Anderson) Johnson, she died Tuesday, July 5, 2005. On March 21, 1941, Ida married George Barker in Pittsburgh. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She served as a volunteer at Northern Illinois Medical Center for more than 25 years and was a dedicated church member. Survivors include her daughters, Ann (William) Barker-Griffith of Syracuse, N.Y., and Joyce Barker of Huntley; grandchildren, George Griffith, Patrick, Maureen and Colleen Gallagher and Megan (Justin) Weltscheff; her sister, Margaret Risler of Cary, N.C.; nieces, Janet Felmeth and Nancy Bolish; and nephews, John and James Risler. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, one sister and a niece. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Waters Lutheran Church.
