JAMES E. MONAHAN Obituary
James E. Monahan, 90, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at Green Oaks Senior Living. He was born Sept. 12, 1928 in Lake Forest and had been a Libertyville resident the past 64 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville and was a former engineer for Ecko Products in Wheeling. Jim was a US Army veteran, having served in Korea and was a member of the Libertyville American Legion Post #329. He enjoyed bowling, golf, woodworking and especially his family. Surviving are 3 sons, Michael Monahan, Thomas Monahan and James (Jody) Monahan; 3 grandchildren, Kevin (Jenny), Traci and Patrick Jr.; great-grandchildren, Madelyn and J.J. Monahan; Niece, Linda (Marty) Paulson; grandniece and grandnephew, Kaitlin and Kevin Wright. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen and sons, Patrick and Daniel. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Friday, Oct. 12 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. Prayers will begin at 1:30 pm Saturday, Oct. 13 at the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple, Libertyville. Interment with military honors will follow at Ascension Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
