Obituary Condolences

Patricia Jean Wickstrom, 88, passed away on May 12, 2019 at home. She was the wife of Ernest John Wickstrom Sr. They both graduated from Austin High School, the cheerleader and football player, sharing 68 years of marriage together. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Oscar "Ches" and Marguerite Johnson. She was employed by Karis Management for 22 years, managing the payroll for six McDonald's locations in and around the Des Plaines area. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Illinois Turner Camp and her Des Plaines bridge club for many years. She was an avid card player. She played cards monthly with her dearest friends for a season, then "Skip-Bo" poolside at her beloved turner camp, and won a Poker tournament or two along the way. She was beautiful, gracious, and generous to her family and many friends. She loved her husband, children, grand and great grandchildren selflessly. Her grandchildren have fond memories of Grandma in attendance at all of their events, caring for them each summer at the cottage, and spoiling them at her magical Christmas Eve gatherings. She is survived by spouse Ernie Wickstrom Sr., children Ernie Wickstrom Jr. (Donna) and Kelly Hamontree (Dean) and was preceded in death by daughter Kimberly Jean Wickstrom. She is survived by grandchildren Amber Wisnevski, Erika and Haley Wickstrom, Taylor, Teagan, Jeff, Stephen and Kevin Hamontree. Also precious great-grandchildren Harper, Jack, Smith, MacKenna and JD. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 16 from 5 to 9 pm at Smith Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine IL. 60067 with a prayer service at 7 pm. Interment will be graveside on Friday May 17 at 11 am (gather at cemetery entrance 10:45 am) at Ridgewood Memorial Park, 9900 N. Milwaukee Ave., Des Plaines, IL 60016. Arrangements by Benson Family Funeral Home, 773-478-5800.
