PAUL JAMES RACHIELLES Obituary
Paul James Rachielles, 65, of Burlington, CT passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 2, 2018. He died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Born in Batavia, IL on June 20, 1952 to the late William D. and Doris A. Rachielles, he spent many boyhood days working the soda fountain at Rachielles Pharmacy, owned and operated by his father. Paul graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University, where he was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity and the Society of Automotive Engineers. Director of Product Development at Henkel for more than sixteen years, he led international teams on automotive product development and technical service. He was also a decade-long member of the Burlington Planning and Zoning Board, as well as Lions Club International. Always a quick wit, Paul's enduring positive outlook and willingness to help anyone brightened the lives of friends and strangers alike. His passion for cars and auto racing could only be surpassed by his love of family, friends, and a good joke. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Linda (Rischl) Rachielles and his three treasured sons: Nick and Tim of Boston, MA and Tom (Lisa) of Stamford, CT. He is also survived by his older brother, W. Bradley (Sharon) Rachielles, of Upland, CA. Visitation will be held at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main Street, Unionville, CT on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 1 - 4 PM. The family would like to thank the staff of Hartford Hospital for their vigilance, care, and compassion during Paul's final days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul's name to the Lustgarten Foundation, 415 Crossways Park Drive, Suite D, Woodbury, NY 11797.
