STUART L. SMIDL Obituary
HUNTLEY - Stuart L. Smidl, 48, died peacefully August 9, 2018 with his family by his side. Stuart was born August 9, 1970 in Chicago, the son of Ward and Edith Smidl. Stuart was a graduate of Fremd High School and attended Harper College. He worked as a data processor at DMC. After receiving his service dog, Krush, he became a member of the Board of Mid-America Service Dogs' Foundation which connects people with disabilities with service dogs. Stuart's hobbies were mountain biking, fishing, and waking Krush and visiting friends. Stuart built RC cars, boats and drones as well as train sets and slot cars. Stuart was preceded in death by his father, Ward Smidl; and survived by his mother, Edith Smidl; Siblings Susan (Scott) Dickey, David (Krista) Smidl, Douglas (Alanna) Smidl, Sarah (Chad) Nevius; nieces/nephews: Jill (Shane), Thomas (Courtney), Kate, Libby, Ashley (Tony), Jennifer, Greg (Kim), Jackson, Jana; and his faithful service dog, Krush. Visitation will be held Friday August 17th from 6:00-8:00pm at DeFiore Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road Huntley, IL 60142. Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 18th at 9:00am followed by Celebration of Life at 10:00am at First United Methodist Church 123 North Plum Grove Road, Palatine, IL 60067. In lieu of flowers, donations accepted to MidAmerica Service Dogs' Foundation, Inc., 7420 S. County Line Rd., Ste. 8, Burr Ridge, IL 60527, and/or First United Methodist Church, 123 N.
