THOMAS RICHARD "TR" MILLER Obituary
Thomas Richard "TR" Miller, 80, of Roscoe, IL peacefully rejoined our Lord on Monday, July 9, 2018. Tom was born on April 13, 1938, in South Haven, MI. He grew up in Maywood, IL and attended St. James Catholic Grade School and graduated from Proviso East High School. Tom was a veteran of the US Army, serving during years 1957-1963, Specialist Fifth Class, Radar, and was also a decorated 'Sharpshooter (M-1)', stationed in White Sands, NM. After being honorably discharged, he graduated from University of Illinois with a degree in Engineering. He worked for GTE Automatic Electric in the R&D department in Northlake, IL until 1974. He then opened his own MILEX Auto repair business from 1974-1977. Subsequently, he returned to GTE R&D Cellular Transmission department and retired in 1986. He then went to work in the lumber and hardware business with Seigles Home Improvement in Elgin, IL. After moving to Roscoe, IL in 1997, he worked for Hines Lumber in Rockton, IL and Wickes Lumber in Beloit, WI. Tom was an extremely handy man and was always happy to help any neighbor or stranger who asked. Survivors include wife of 31 years, Gale (Janetske) Miller; son, John (Renee) Miller; daughter, Nancy (Matt) Anderson; son, Paul (Ruth) Miller; eight wonderful grandchildren; and many special friends. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 in Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory - Roscoe Chapel, 11342 Main Street, Roscoe with Pastor Dan Herman of The Old Stone Church officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until time of service. Inurnment will be held at 3:00 p.m. July 18, 2018 in Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, IL.
