VICTORIA I. "VICKIE" QUANE Obituary
BATAVIA - Victoria I. "Vickie" Quane, passed away following a difficult fight with cancer on December 3, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her loving husband, David, her two children, Jessica Zeeck and Jacob Quane, and her six beautiful grandchildren, Tyler (12), Ellyn (8), Claire (7), Owen (6), Charley (5) and Annabelle (2). She was born on April 15, 1957, in Woburn, Massachusetts, to her parents Joseph and Irene Polywacz. Eventually she and her family moved to Round Lake Beach where she met David. The two of them got married on July 22, 1978. She began working as a nurse and they settled in Wonder Lake to raise their family. Eventually Dave and Vickie moved to Batavia to raise their family, which has been their home for 31 years. Vickie was an ICU nurse at Mercy Hospital in Aurora for 25 years. In addition to serving the community as a nurse, she was very involved in volunteering, having devoted years of her life to the Kane County Wellness Child Clinic from the year it opened until it closed. She also volunteered at Michealsen Health Center in Batavia and at the St. Vincent DePaul Dj vu Thrift Store in Geneva. Vickie was also an avid runner, often seen running through town or on the Fox River Trail. She has completed multiple marathons and dozens of half marathons. She also loved crocheting and sewing especially for others. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Vickie was a devout Catholic and an active member at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Batavia. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 S Batavia Ave, Batavia, IL 60510. Funeral services will begin with prayers Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. from Moss Family Funeral Home before proceeding to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 Main St, Batavia, IL to celebrate Mass at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Holy Cross School Guardian Angel Fund.
