Violet M. Assam

Rev. Violet M. Assam of Elk Grove Village for six years Visitation for the Rev. Violet M. Assam (nee LePlatt), 86, will be from 5:30 p.m. until the time of service at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road (three blocks south of Biesterfield Road), Elk Grove Village. Born in Trinidad, she died Dec. 15, 2011, at Manor Care of Elk Grove Village. Violet was a retired registered nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, N.Y., and the minister emeritus of Unity of Trinidad and Tobago. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Harry Collymore (2001); loving mother of Sandrea and Sawley Assam; and cherished grandmother of Elena Truffa.
