Funeral services for Ella Ruth Stamps Groce, 79, will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Groce will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the services.
Mrs. Ella Ruth Stamps Groce was born on April 26, 1939 to the union of Cecil Stamps and Rebecca Miller Stamps in Talladega, Alabama.
Mrs. Groce confessed Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior and united with Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the Talladega County School System. She was an employee of Wehadkee Yarn Mill, Talladega Healthcare Center and Sunset Inn.
On the morning of Tuesday, August 28, 2018, Mrs. Groce was called to her eternal rest.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Groce; parents, Cecil and Rebecca Stamps; two sisters, Mary Francis Jackson and Odessa Curry; and two brothers, Sylvester Storey and Walter Stamps.
Loving memories of her will be in the hearts of her two daughters, Stella Madden and Pamela (Travis) Smith of Talladega, Alabama; two sons, Nathaniel Groce and Michael (Inez) Groce of Talladega, Alabama; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and one great -great grandchild; three sisters-in-law, Annie Stamps, Laura Groce and Lillie Groce of Talladega, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
