Betty Rutherford Obituary

Betty Lou Ferrier Rutherford born January 29, 1935 died peacefully January 1, 2019. Predeceased by her brother W. Stewart Ferrier and nephew Timothy A. Gallagher. Survived by son, Scott A. Rutherford and daughter, Laura R. Kreisa (Barry), brother James A. Ferrier (Lee) and sister, Marilyn F. Gallagher. Grandchildren: Malina Rutherford, Joseph Kreisa, Robert Rutherford, Kathryn Newsom (Matthew) and Alan Kreisa (Candice) and 4 great-grandchildren. She was excited for the pending arrival of another great grandchild due on her birthday, January 29. She was caring nurse who proudly served in that role until her last days. She formally retired and relocated to Richmond, VA in 1999 where she delighted in her role as Mimi to her grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Our Lady of Hope and Heartland Hospice for their loving care. A celebration of her life will take place Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2PM at Third Church, 600 Forest Ave, Henrico VA 23229. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Diabetes Association 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900 Arlington, VA 22202.
