Richard Strayer Obituary

Dr. Richard Levi Strayer of West Chester Dr. Richard Levi Strayer, 85, of West Chester, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Neighborhood Hospice. He was the much loved husband of Deborah Anne Nickles with whom he shared 32 wonderful years. Born in York, Pa., Dick graduated from high school there and joined the Navy to serve in the Philippines in WWII. He had degrees from West Chester State College, the University of Delaware and Temple University. Dick taught in East Berlin, Kennett Square and West Chester University. He loved music, books, painting, traveling, teaching, volunteering, gardening and his dear dogs. Dick is also survived by his four children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
