Donald H. Lammey, Sr. 84 of West Chester, PA passed away Saturday January 23, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family under hospice care. He was the husband of the late Mary Ann Lammey (Mullin). Born May 21, 1936 in Chester Springs, PA at his grandparent’s home. He was the son of the late Harold V. Lammey and Gladys M. Lammey (McCardell). Don was a lifelong resident of West Chester, graduating from West Chester Joint Senior High School in 1954 where he was very active in sports and played on the 1954 championship basketball team. After graduation he joined the Air Force serving 21 years as a military policemen and a tour in Vietnam. Upon returning home Don led his remaining career as a lifetime of public service working 20 years with the West Chester Borough Post Office and 9 years for the County of Chester. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #853 and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 106. Don’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Whether it was just hanging out, going to Timothy’s for family lunches, summers at the beach in Stone Harbor, NJ and Cape Cod, MA or attending the activities of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always involved and a dedicated cheerleader for all of us. He is survived by his, daughters, Michelle Lammey, Debra A Lammey, and Wendy L. Vitelli; son, Donald H Lammey, Jr. (Kelly); 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in law & brother-in-law, Lois Bourke, Sandi Huss and Peter Barnes. Donald was also preceded in death by his first wife Nancy R Lammey (Duvall) and two sons David and Michael Lammey. Relatives and Friends are invited to his Graveside Service on Saturday January 30, 2021 at 1:00pm at Green Mount Cemetery 117 Westtown Road West Chester PA 19382.
