Virginia Kast McKelvie

Virginia Kast McKelvie of Kennett Square Virginia Kast McKelvie, 88, of Kennett Square, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. She was wife of Donald McKelvie, who passed away in 1993, and with whom she shared 27 years of marriage. She was born in Lehighton, Pa. Virginia was a home economics teacher and a guidance counselor at the Kennett Consolidated School District for 9 years, retiring in 1970 . She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent. She enjoyed cooking and going hunting and fishing with her husband. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Her graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at the Union Hill Cemetery, Route 82, Kennett Square. In memory of Virginia, a contribution may be made to the Kennett Education Foundation, for the Donald McKelvie Memorial Chemistry Award, 300 East South Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
