Walter E. Cork Watters Obituary
Walter E. “Cork” Watters, age 86, of Glenmoore, died on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Born on March 30, 1931 in Honeybrook, he was the husband of the late Cora Mae Lewis Watters with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. He was the co-owner of Watters Trucking Company in Glenmoore from 1955 until his retirement in 2015. As a local business owner, he was very involved in the community. He sponsored scholarships for local high schools, many local sports teams and for over 30 years was involved in the sport of baseball through Caln little league, American Legion, Twilight League and Fast pitch softball. He not only sponsored but coached for many years as well. For his community service, he was awarded the Purple Heart in 1978. Walter is survived by two daughters: Judith Anderson and Victoria Crist both of Glenmoore, and a son Walter E. “Ed” Jr. (Donna) of Coatesville; four grandchildren: Matthew and Courtney Crist and Meredith (Kenny) Byerly of Glenmoore and Hayley Watters of Coatesville. There will be a time of visitation with the family on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at the Maclean-Chamberlain Funeral Home. Interment will be private with family.
