Warren Smith Obituary

Warren Smith of Kennett Square Warren Smith, 95, of Kennett Square, passed away on Jan. 23, 2013, at Seasons Hospice at Christiana Hospital, Newark, Del. He was the husband of Hilda Leto Smith, who passed away in 2003, and with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Denver, Pa., he was the son of the late Samuel Zern Smith and the late Mary Whitman Smith. Warren was a special education teacher at the Kennett Consolidated School District for 22 years, retiring in 1981. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Warren was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, and loved listening to classical music. He was a former Senior Ping Pong champion in Chester County. He is survived by one son, Warren R. Smith and his wife Joyce A. of Kennett Square; two daughters, Linda K. Heintz of Kennett Square and Janine C. Pizano and her husband Daniel of Ventura, Calif.; two grandchildren; three sisters and many in-laws. You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 9:30 to 10:30, Saturday morning, Jan. 26, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, (Phone: 610-444-4116). His funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to the Friends Home, 147 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.griecocares.com.
