Lance Edward Curtright
December 15, 1976- December 23, 2020
Lance Edward Curtright, 44, of Lakeland, TN, a beloved son, husband, father, brother, grandson, uncle and friend, passed away on December 23, 2020. Lance was born on December 15, 1976, to his parents Garry and Mary Curtright of Bartlett, TN.
He leaves his wife of 18 years, Jenny O'Guinn Curtright; daughter Lily Curtright; son Davis Curtright, all of Lakeland, TN. He leaves a brother Nickalas (Rebecca) Curtright of Palm Springs, CA; sister Robin Greeney of Herrin, IL; grandmother Bess Matlock of Bartlett, TN; mother and father in-law Mike and Sandra O'Guinn of Bartlett, TN; brother-in-law Jason (Joslin) O'Guinn and their children Grant, Jackson and Henry, all of Germantown, TN. He is preceded in death by grandparents Ruben and Sarah Byars, grandfather Horace Lovell and sister Rhonda Triplet. Lance also leaves a host of aunts, uncles and many other family members and friends that will miss him dearly.
Lance was born in Memphis, TN, and graduated from Bartlett High School in 1996. He worked in construction for Bronze Builders for 10 years. He graduated from The Memphis Fire Academy in 2010, Recruit Class 96. He worked for The Memphis Fire Department and was most recently employed as a Shift Commander Paramedic for Amerimed EMS, where he was awarded Employee of the Year for 2020. Lance had a passion for gardening, fishing, hunting, animals, helping others and making people laugh. He enjoyed taking his family to Gatlinburg to be surrounded by the peacefulness of the mountains and the outdoors. He loved the Lord and the opportunity to share his faith with family and friends. He also loved his job and the ability to help people. He brought joy and a smile to everyone that knew him. We all have such fond memories and stories with Lance, and he will remain in our hearts forever. We'll never forget his infectious laugh and his kind heart.
Due to covid restrictions, a private memorial service will be planned at a later date.
However, the family would love for you to honor him by doing some of his favorite things such as fishing, plant a garden, watch his favorite movie or TV show, build something, be one with nature, go to the beach or the mountains, kayak, visit a state park, pull a prank, befriend your neighbor, feed the homeless, go to church, call a friend, make someone laugh, or anything that reminds you of Lance.
