I'll miss you grandpa Dave. I wish that I wasn't just learning of your passing. I will always remember sitting in your living room on Christmas morning, while your talking bass sang on the wall. RIP.

Prayers to the family. Dave taught me to water ski at Sunken Meadow Beach Camp many years ago. All our families would camp there in the summers. Such fun.

Uncle Dave was always working every time I went down to his marina. My father was his brother in-law, and I had the opportunity growing up to see every pier, pylon, ramp, and covered boat slip built by my uncle, and his two sons Davey Jr. and Ricky. It took a whole lot of hard work to build the marina, and to run it daily for all of the many visitors, residents, and guests who visited Poquoson. After Hurricane Isabel, my Uncle Dave decided to sell the marina, and move on into retirement only a short distance away from it in solitude. He was a private man, but he could get you laughing right away with his own infectious laugh and smiles. One of the things I remember the most about him was his cigars, and his hats he wore from time to time. I had just seen him about 8 weeks ago when I had taken him some Doumar's BBQs he and my own father used to get all of the time. Thanks for all of the years Uncle Dave, you will be missed by all who knew you. Say hello to my dad while you are there, and you two go and have some fun like you used to have.

Mr. Dave was a kind and great man. My father and uncle helped build the small finger piers that went between the slips at the uncovered docks at Poquoson Marina. My father was a boat builder and owner for many years and Mr. Dave was a great friend to our entire family. May God be with his entire family during this time of loss.
