HAMPTON - Alan "Nick" Nicol, 61, passed away Oct 31st, 2016 and was surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved dad, brother, pawpaw and uncle affectionately known as Uncle Ducky. Preceded in death by his mother and father Betty and Alex Nicol and aunt Yvonne Morgan. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving daughters Kelly Nicol (Brian) and Leslie, his nephew David Nicol whom he treated as a son, the love of his life Susan March, grandchildren Kaleb Nicol, Joshua Theiss, Maverick Bates and HunterMarie Matthews, sisters Sandra (Russell) Smith, Shirley (Blaine) Gayle and Joan Nicol. Nieces Angela (John) Lees, Jennifer (Kevin) Rowe, and Nephew Freddy (Melissa) Paul, as well as a host of extended family and friends. Nick was a lifetime resident of Hampton, a career carpenter and a skilled craftsman who enjoyed sharing his knowledge and tricks of the trade he acquired building many homes in the area. From fire restoration, water damage and new construction, he took on every task with precision. Nick always gave more than he received and while he enjoyed his work, he took pride in the time he spent with his family. His quick witted sense of humor and forgiving spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Nick attended Liberty Baptist Church where he established his relationship with Christ. A going home celebration will be held at 3:00pm, November 11, 2016 at Liberty Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Liberty Baptist Building Fund.
