Alex was like a big brother to me for so long, as was my brother to Alex's little sister. They're together now, in Heaven, waiting for their little sisters to join them in eternal happiness.

My son Nick McGrady swam with Alex for years on the PAST swim team. I remember many early mornings sitting in the bleachers, talking with Nan and watching those boys swim back and forth. Alex was such a determined, beautiful, gentle soul. I can not even begin to imagine your immeasurable grief and loss. There are no words to ease your pain but I hope you know that Alex will never be forgotten and he will always be in our thoughts.

To the Kanes: I never knew Alex. I never had the pleasure of meeting him. I knew of him only through the warm descriptions that his sister attached with the name of her brother Alex. I did not even know of his death until the link to this guestbook was in my email sent from his sister. Perhaps therefore it is not appropriate that I sign this guestbook filled with condolences from friends and family. I am sorry to hear that he is lost. I once heard a line from a movie which is appropriate in this context: "Our loss is heaven's gain." May his soul and yours be filled with peace.

This isn't what I was expecting to find when I came here to view Alex's obituary... but it is more than an appreciated surprise. Alex was an amazing brother. I will never be able to share with anyone what I was able to share with him. He had so many amazing potentials; he would have done it all. And he certainly would have made one amazing father someday... God I'm going to miss him so much.

Thanks everyone- for keeping Alex in your thoughts.

I was so saddened tonight to open the paper and see the familair, good looking face of Alex. I am so very sorry. I wish I could see all of you and give you all a big hug. It seems as though it was not very long ago we were such a part of each other's lives. I miss you all. Please know I am thinking of all of you during this most difficult time. My heart is aching, because I feel such a sense of loss for all of you, and for those of us that will not see Alex play music, laugh, become a doctor, grow up...my love to you all.

Much love,

Laura Morello

SO, SO SORRY TO HEAR OF ALEX'S PASSING. MY DAUGHTER, STEPHANIE YODER, USED TO SWIM WITH ALEX ON THE GLENDALE GATORS, AND THEY WERE PRACTICALLY THE SAME AGE. ALEX WAS SUCH A NICE YOUNG MAN.
