Alfred Spencer "Al" Roberts Obituary
POQUOSON - Alfred Spencer "Al" Roberts, 85, a native of Everett, WA, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015, with his loving family by his side. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1947-58, and during the Korean War he fought at the Battle of Chosin Reservoir, earning him the distinction of being a "Frozen Chosin Marine." Al worked for Boeing in Seattle for 25 years before moving to Poquoson and founding Dynamic Engineering in Newport News in 1972. In 1990, Al began working with TriModels, Inc. of Huntington Beach, CA until retirement in 2009. Al was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Spencer & Mildred Hjort Roberts, and brother, Wayne Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Jean Roberts; two sons, Mark Spencer Roberts of Anthem, AZ, and Keith Spencer Roberts & wife Leslie of Poquoson; three daughters, Karen Roberts Enneking & husband Paul of Poquoson, Valerie Roberts Padgett & husband Don of Ashburn, VA, and Susan Roberts Rogers of Commerce, GA; sister, Corrine Roberts Lindberry of Sedro-Woolley, WA; fifteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight, 7:00-8:30 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson. A Graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 18, 10:00 AM, at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton, with Marine Honors.
