Alice A. PALMENTERA Obituary
HAMPTON - Alice Ann Palmentera, 73, a native of Statesville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 29, 2010.
She was a resident of Hampton, Va., for 57 years. She was employed in retail management with VA Specialty Stores and retired in 2002, after 30 years of service. She was a member of Big Bethel Baptist Church. She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all of their families.
She is preceded in death by her grandson, Jason Seidnitzer; father, John T. Lindley; mother, Ida M. Lindley; sisters, Myrtle Bowers, Pauline Browning, and Lucille Bolick; and brother, John Lindley.
Alice leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Paul Palmentera IV and girlfriend, Janet Laney; daughters, Robin Walsh, Christal Seidnitzer, Bridget Norris, and Hope Howell; grandchildren, Christina Vega, Kimberly Walsh, Andrea Stack, Ericka Seidnitzer, Shaun Norris, Michael Bedford, and John Howell; great-grandchildren, Larissa Vega, Christian Vega, Brett Fallen, Braylon Fallen, and Jordan Rome, all of the Peninsula; brother, Charles Lindley of Afton, Tenn.; sister, Nell Tissiere of Newport News; nieces, Mary 'Flexie' Hughes, Melanie Justice, and Jean Glover; and nephews, Benny Bowers, Charles Lindley Jr., and Edward H. Tissiere III.
Friends are invited to visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Alice's life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael Vega, George Rome, Shaun Norris, John Howell, Jason Marshall, and Charles Lindley Jr.
