POQUOSON - Charles Frederick Pyle Sr., 78, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 6, 2017. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina and has lived in Poquoson for the past 54 years. In 1957, Charles married his childhood sweetheart, Shirley Ann Perrin in Richmond, Virginia. The two celebrated their 60th anniversary with family on June 15th. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960 and retired from Dynamic Engineering as a model-maker in 2001. He loved to hunt and fish, was an avid NASCAR fan and especially loved to watch "his boy", Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Charles loved to work with his hands and could build or fix anything. He was a member of Victory Church. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Octavia McCorkle and John Thomas Pyle, Sr.; daughter, Kathryn Yvonne Pyle; brothers, John Thomas Pyle, Jr. and Howard Ernie Pyle, Sr.; and parents-in-law, Alice Brooks and Arthur Nelson Perrin, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Ann Pyle; son, Charles F. Pyle, Jr. (Nancy); daughter, Denise P. Junghans (Michael); grandchildren, Lyndsie Griffiths (Carl) and Daniel Junghans (Martha); great-grandchildren, Elliana and Micaiah Griffiths; brother, Ronnie Pyle; sister, Sandra Draper; brother and sister in-law, Robert and Linda Perrin; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, 6:30 - 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 9 and other times at 4 Carriage Hill Dr. A Celebration of Charles' life will be held 12:00 noon, Monday, July 10 with Pastor Jame` Bolds officiating at the Funeral Home, with burial following at Hampton Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are invited to a reception at the family home following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Poquoson Volunteer Fire and Rescue Dept., P. O.
