Charles Joseph Lupico Obituary
POQUOSON - Charles "Chuck" Lupico, 38, passed into the arms of Our Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013. He was born at Whiteman AFB, Knob Noster, MO on 27 March 1975. Chuck was an Air Force Brat and travelled the globe with his family. He spent 8.5 years of his life in Europe and had friends and family everywhere. He played soccer in Ramstein Germany as a youngster. He got to climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa with his brother Jean Louis and eat Italian ice cream with his grandfather in Italy. He stood on top of the Eiffel Tower with Paris at his feet. He was a member of the Poquoson Bulls football team long before its championship status. Chuck loved both animals and "critters" equally and (in his younger days) kept a small wading pool stocked with 30 turtles (that only he could identify) in his family's garage. His latest acquisition was "Roxy" an English bulldog, who can best be described as having a face that only Chuck could love. Chuck was a jack of all trades; he was a qualified welder and had worked as a roofer and drainpipe installer. He was an experienced employee at Panera Bread and was qualified as an associate as well as a baker and catering manager. Chuck spent his last two years with his "adopted" family, each of whom he loved deeply. He enjoyed watching Jacob's football games and Isabella and Victoria's cheerleading practices. Chuck was a good man with a big heart and will be missed by many. He is survived by his parents Charles and Andree of Poquoson; his grandmother, Marie Fourastie of Petit Clamart, France; his brother, Jean-Louis Lupico and wife Shea and nephews Blake and Brice of Newport News; his aunt Pat Graham of Yorktown; his "adopted" family, Kylene Becker and her children, Isabella, Victoria, and Jacob of Poquoson; cousins, Christine Detamore of Hawley, PA and Daniel Graham of Poughquag, NY; his aunt Linda and cousins, Joseph, Edward, Patrick, Christopher and Matthew Lupico of Wilkes Barre, PA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 14 Dec at 12:30 PM at St. Joseph's Church, 512 Buckroe Ave., Hampton, by Monsignor Barrett. A reception will follow at his parent's home, 21 Trottwood Dr., Poquoson. Arrangements are under the care of Claytor Rollins Funeral Home in Poquoson. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Youth Challenge, 332 34th Street, Newport News, VA, 23607. Online condolences to claytorrollins.com .
