Col. Charles M. Conrad Obituary
POQUOSON - Col. Charles M. "Chuck" Conrad, retired U.S. Air Force, died peacefully at home with family on Thursday, February 19, 2015. He was born April 24, 1920 in Trenton, NJ, and was raised in Barnegat, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary; sons, Grove (Kathy), and Chip (Christine); daughters, Margaret, Liz (Marty), Gale (Keith), and Sandy; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a devoted member of the Kiwanis Club. Chuck very much enjoyed his 30 years in the Air Force, as well as many other things including sailing, hunting, and fishing; however, his greatest enjoyment came from being with his family and living life his way. He will be missed by many, but none more than his family - we will miss you more than you could imagine. Thank you for everything, Dad. Visitation will take place Sunday, Feb. 22, from 2 to 3 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, immediately followed by the funeral service at 3 PM in the church sanctuary by Rev. Charles R. Stacy and Rev. Milford C. Rollins. Burial will follow at Weston Cemetery, Poquoson, with full Air Force Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Chuck's memory be made to the Poquoson Volunteer Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 2099, or Trinity United Methodist Church (Living Our Faith), 1294 Poquoson Ave., or the Weston Cemetery Association, C/O Sherwood Emerson, 262 Little Florida Rd., all in Poquoson, VA, 23662.
