Dorsey Evans "Snookie" White III Obituary
POQUOSON - Dorsey Evans "Snookie" White III, 70, a native of Hampton Roads and resident of Poquoson for 61 years, passed away at home on Friday, November 24, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church; served in the U. S. Navy on the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr.; and retired from N.A.S.A. as a mechanical engineering technician in 2002. Snookie loved woodworking, his boat "The White Cap", his 1968 Dodge Coronet, and his greatest love was family and spending time with them. Snookie was preceded in death by his parents, Dorsey and Audrey White; and brothers, Lonnie White, Grady Spry, and Freddie Spry and wife Shirley. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia "Pat" Moore White; sons, Dwight White and wife Kelly, and Patrick White and Sara Forrest; grandchildren, Gibson, Addy, Madison, Katelyn, Cassidy, Charlie, and Marley; brothers and sisters, David and Harriet Guthrie, Tim and Lynn Moore, and Steve and Joie Moore; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held for Snookie at Emmaus Baptist Church, Poquoson, Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 2:00 PM led by Rev. Katherine Gray with military honors. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service and other times at the family home. Burial will be private.
