Edward Earl Tyndall Jr. Obituary
POQUOSON - Edward Earl Tyndall, Jr., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 9, 2017. Earl was born July 16, 1932. He grew up in Yorktown and raised his family in Hampton, spending his remaining years in Poquoson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Earl was a graduate of Hampton High School, Class of 1952, where he participated in baseball and football. Many young lives were impacted by Coach Tyndall's years with Northampton Little League and Northampton Athletic Association. He was also instrumental in bringing back the Hampton Royals semi-pro baseball. Earl retired from Suttle Motor Corporation after 45 years of service and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Hampton. Earl enjoyed supporting his family in all their activities, especially in their athletic events. He was a huge history enthusiast, avid reader and golfer, who enjoyed his weekly outings with his long-time friends of the Watkins Golf Group. Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dorothy, loving wife of 47 years, Viola Mae and his brother, Donald. He is survived by his children, Edward Earl Tyndall, III (Patti), Carol Jones (James, Mike Tyndall (Tobi) Patricia Hill (Randy); 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Ella McDonnell; and brother, Steve (Jane); and sisters-in-law, Judy Arehart and Rose. A celebration of Earl's life will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 14, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home and Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the funeral home. Interment will be private in Parklawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Poquoson Rescue Squad or Bethany United Methodist Church of Hampton.
