Edward W. NELSON Obituary
POQUOSON - Edward Wayne Nelson, 97, a native of Hunker, Pa., and resident of Springdale, Pa., most of his life, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at The Devonshire in Hampton.
He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in New Kensington, Pa., and had served in the adult choir. Mr. Nelson was a Mason for more than 50 years in Lower Burrell, Pa. He retired after 35 years of service in Quality Control for Alcoa Aluminum Co. of America.
Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie T. Nelson.
He is survived by his son, E. David Nelson and wife, Susi of Poquoson.
A graveside service with Masonic Rites will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, Pa., by the Rev. Kamila Blessing, the new pastor of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.
Memorial contribution may be made to Poquoson Volunteer Fire & Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 2099, Poquoson, VA 23662. The family would like to thank the staff at The Devonshire, Riverside Hospice, and loving companions for their care and support of Mr. Nelson.
