Obituary Condolences

POQUOSON - George E. Provo Jr., 85, passed away peacefully into the arms of God on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Hampton Sentara CarePlex.
A native of Hampton, he was a WW II veteran, having served in Japan. George had worked at the Newport News Shipyard for 38 years in the sheet metal department, retiring in March of 1989. His favorite pastime had been going to the Norfolk Tides baseball games with his good friend, Don Joynes.
George was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sister, Annie Virginia Collins; nephew, Linwood Collins; four nieces, Linda Sullivan and her husband, Joseph of Poquoson, Sharon Allen and her husband, John of Yorktown, Janice Bauguess of Newport News, and Tricia Tinnon and her husband, Brad and their children, Logan and Lauren; and a host of other relatives. He will be greatly missed.
A private family service was held at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
