James C. King, 87, went to heaven on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at home after a short illness. He retired from the U. S. Army in 1971and then worked as a NASA Security Guard for 33 years. James leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Edith B. King who he married in Bremerhaven, Germany while stationed there with the U. S. Army in 1957. He also leaves behind his favorite niece, Ute Lovell, who he thought of as his own daughter. A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, August 16, 1:00 PM at Hampton Veterans Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Rd., Hampton led by Pastor Jame` Bolds. Claytor Rollins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Poquoson Fire Dept., P. O. Box 2404, Poquoson, VA 23662.
