James Nickelson Insley Obituary
POQUOSON - James Nickelson "Nicky" Insley, 70, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015. His loving family was by his side when he went to be with the Lord and work in God's heavenly garden. He was born Jan. 14, 1945 in Hampton and was a lifelong Poquoson resident. Nicky loved the water, but especially working his vegetable garden. He shared his bountiful crops with many of his friends and family. Nicky worked as a waterman for several years and retired as a carpenter after 33 years. He will be dearly missed by everyone, especially for his humor, his stories of old, and his delicious tomatoes. Nicky was preceded in death by his son, James Nickelson "Little Nick" Insley Jr.; parents, Thelma Forrest Insley & Robert N. Insley; and sister, Shelby Dean Insley. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sarah Catherine Pauls Insley; daughter, Nicole Renee Muza and husband James Andrew; the love of his life, his granddaughter Kayla Nicole Muza; brother, Robert G. "Bobby" Insley Sr.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 28, 7-8:30 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, and other times at the Insley home, 1195 Poquoson Avenue. Nicky's funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 29, 2:00 PM, at the funeral home by Rev. George T. Insley Jr. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
